Homecoming

Saturday was also Homecoming. Tyler and his friend decided to have their dates over and for me to cook again. After the tournament I stopped by the Flower Basket and the market for a few additional items. I then raced home and tried to get everything ready. It all took longer than expected and I was a little late with the food and didn't get to take any pictures or video. I made shrimp lettuce wraps, which were really good but hot. I forgot to wear gloves again while cutting up the Serano peppers and my fingers burned all night. I then made caprese with fresh basil from my garden. Grilled steak on the stove and smoked everyone out. Red mashed potatoes with fresh rosemary and chives from my garden and roasted carrots. I made a dessert I saw last week on Rachel Ray which I thought was really good. I crushed butter cookies and put fresh raspberries on top. Then you make a mousse out of whipping cream and Nutella. I thought it was yummy. I didn't try the steak but Tyler said it was really good and loved the entire meal. Needless to say I was so exhaustd afterwards that I slept in on Sunday until 5:00 p.m. Sure sign that I am getting old.

TaeKwondo Tournament

Tyler competed in his first tournament on Saturday and did really well. He got third in forms and first in sparring. He really had to work hard to win sparring and won the final round by only one point. So excited for him. I got it all on video so no pictures of forms or sparring.

Owlz

Went to an Owlz game with Kiwanis. Stayed for almost the entire game. I know - impressive. The owlz won.

Labor Day

I don't have any fun pictures of the beach like Kirsten. Mine turned out to be pretty awful. Michael and I painted Mutti's kitchen which turned out really nice. We used the new Behr paint that has the primer in it. The color is called light honey. David helped us put on the second coat and Tyler mowed the lawn.
I got home @ 6:30 and went online to check my school site. We had a team paper due this week and I had submitted my portion last Tuesday. Needless to say that nobody had done anything. One girl decided she was too busy to do anything and one guy hadn't had time yet and was working on it. I was so mad. I ended up driving down to the office and spent three hours writing the paper on what information I had. I didn't get home until 10:30 p.m. and as soon as I laid down I got sick and was up half the night. I hate group assignments. Who know what kind of grade we are going to receive. What I really hate is being penalized for what others do.

Homecoming

I was folding laudry the other night @ 10:30 p.m. when the doorbell rang. I looked at Tyler to see if he was expecting anyone and he wasn't. He opened the door and then called me to come look. He asked a girl to Homecoming and she responded. It is on the 12th and he is looking forward to it.

Let's Go To The Movies

A couple of weeks ago I borrowed the projector from work and we watched some movies outside. It was so much fun that we want to look at purchasing one for outdoors during the summer.
On Saturday David and I painted the doors upstairs and Daddy put on the new door handles. We were going to paint the kitchen but I couldn't remember the color Mutti had chosen. I was going to do it this Saturday but we rememberd that it is Swiss Days in Midway. So I was just reminded that Monday is a holiday so I think I will do it then. I have decided that I have a love/hate relationship with being busy. I hate sitting at home with nothing to do but I'm always wishing that I could sit at home with nothing to do. Even more, I hate living with the conflict.
